PDF Watermark
Add a text or logo watermark to PDF pages. Control position, tiling, angle and opacity.
What it does
Watermarks stop a draft being mistaken for the final version, discourage sharing a quote without permission, and put your brand on company documents. Add a text or logo watermark and adjust its size, angle, opacity and position in a live preview.
Place it once, in the corners, or tile it across the whole page. Any character works, from accented letters to non-Latin scripts, because the text is drawn as an image before it is stamped.
How to use it
- Drop your PDF file; the first page appears in the preview.
- Type text or choose a logo, then adjust size, angle, opacity and position.
- Press "Apply watermark and download".
When is it useful?
- Stamping "DRAFT" on contracts under negotiation
- Adding your company logo to quotes and price lists
- Marking an ID copy "For X application only"
- Protecting portfolio documents from reuse
Tips
- When sending an ID copy, write the purpose and date in the watermark so it cannot easily be reused elsewhere.
- An opacity of 15 to 25 percent keeps text readable while the watermark stays obvious.
- Use Batch Processing to apply the same watermark to many files.
Frequently asked questions
- Can the watermark be removed later?
- The watermark is added to the page content as an image; it cannot be removed with ordinary viewers.
- Do accented and non-English characters work?
- Yes. The text is drawn to an image first, so é, ñ, ü, ş and every other character render without problems.
- Is it slow on a multi-page PDF?
- Adding watermarks to the pages and re-saving the document happens inside a Web Worker; the interface never freezes while it waits.
- Is the watermark added to every page?
- Yes, it is added to every page with the same settings.
- Which image format is best for a logo?
- A PNG with a transparent background gives the cleanest result. With a JPG logo, its white background is printed too.
