Split PDF

Extract, delete or split selected pages from a PDF, or save every page as its own file.

What it does

Sending only the pages someone needs is faster for them and safer for you. Pick pages one by one, type ranges such as "1-3, 7, 10-", or cut the document into equal parts every N pages.

Pages are copied exactly as they are, so text stays selectable and quality does not drop. When you create several parts, they download together as one ZIP file.

How to use it

  1. Drop your PDF file; the pages are listed as thumbnails (rendering happens in the worker).
  2. Click the pages or type a range.
  3. Choose the operation and download.

When is it useful?

  • Sending just the signature page of a contract
  • Splitting one big batch scan into separate documents
  • Cutting a book or report into chapters
  • Removing blank pages or inserts from a document

Tips

  • Typing "5-" selects everything from page 5 to the end.
  • Splitting out pages that contain personal data before sharing is the simplest way to follow data minimisation rules such as the GDPR.
  • If you want to reorder pages rather than remove them, Page Organizer is the better fit.

Frequently asked questions

Which split options are there?
Combine the selected pages into one PDF, delete the selected pages, save the selected pages separately, or split every N pages.
Does the original file change?
No. Your file is read only in browser memory, inside the worker; the original stays exactly as it is.
Does the quality of the pages drop?
No. The pages are not re-rendered; they are copied as they are with pdf-lib.
Can I save every page as its own PDF?
Yes. Choose to save the selected pages separately and each page becomes its own PDF, all inside one ZIP.
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
Files that need a password to open cannot be split directly. If you know the password, remove it with Unlock PDF first, then drop the file again.
