WrenPDF

Batch Processing

Apply the same operation to many PDFs at once: compress, rotate, number, watermark or write metadata. Results arrive as a single ZIP.

What it does

Rather than repeating the same job on dozens of files, do them all at once: compress, rotate, add page numbers, add a watermark or write metadata. Drop the files, pick the operation and its settings, and everything comes back in one ZIP.

If one file fails, the rest carry on, and you are told which files were skipped. Every step runs in your browser, so even a folder of confidential documents never reaches a server.

How to use it

  1. Drop several PDF files.
  2. Choose the operation and its settings.
  3. Press "Apply to all"; the results arrive as one ZIP.

When is it useful?

  • Compressing all of the month's invoices in one go
  • Stamping "Confidential" on every document in a folder
  • Rotating a whole set of sideways scans
  • Writing author and title details into every PDF you publish

Tips

  • Try the settings on one file with the single tool first, then apply them to all files here.
  • Output file names include the operation, so they never get mixed up with the originals.

Frequently asked questions

How many files can I process?
There is no fixed limit, but because files are processed one after another, many large files take a while. Browser memory is the only real limit.
What happens if one file fails?
That file is skipped and the rest keep going. At the end you are told how many succeeded and which were skipped.
How are the results delivered?
All outputs arrive as a single ZIP file. The operation is appended to each file name (e.g. invoice-compressed.pdf).
Does compression remove text?
Yes: as in the Compress PDF tool, pages are converted to images and the text is no longer selectable. The other operations (rotate, numbering, watermark, metadata) keep the text intact.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Every operation runs in your browser, inside a separate Web Worker. No file is sent to a server.
What happens if I close the tab mid-batch?
Processing runs in the browser, so it stops. For many large files, keep the tab open and the device awake.
