Photograph a document and get a clean scan: shadows removed, paper whitened, one PDF. No app to install, and photos stay on your device.

What it does

No scanner? Your phone will do. Photograph the document and the tool evens out uneven light and shadows, whitens the paper, darkens the text and gathers the pages into one PDF. The result looks very close to a real scan.

There is no app to install and no photo is ever sent to a server, which makes it suitable for IDs, contracts and medical papers. Once the PDF is ready, send it to OCR PDF from the corner card to make it searchable.

How to use it

  1. Press "Take a photo" or pick document photos from your gallery.
  2. Pick a filter; rotate or delete pages.
  3. Press "Create PDF".

  • Returning a signed form without a scanner
  • Turning receipts and invoices into tidy PDFs for your accountant

Tips

  • Put the document on a dark table; contrast between paper and surface improves the result.
  • For receipts and invoices, the Black & white filter gives the most readable and smallest file.
  • For multi-page documents, shoot one after another with "Add page"; delete and reshoot any page that came out badly.

Do I need to install an app?
No. It opens the camera in your phone's browser; photos are processed on your device and never sent to a server.
What does the Auto filter do?
It evens out shadows and uneven lighting, whitens the paper and darkens the text, so the result looks like it came out of a scanner.
Can I search the scanned PDF?
After the PDF is made, send it to OCR PDF with one click from the corner card; the text becomes searchable and copyable.
How should I take the photo for the best result?
Lay the document flat on a dark surface, hold the phone parallel to it and avoid casting a shadow. Let the document fill the frame.
Does it crop the edges automatically?
Not yet; a photo where the document fills the frame gives the best result. You can tidy the PDF afterwards with Crop PDF.
