Fill & Sign PDF

Click to type on a scanned or digital PDF, draw your signature and place it, then save the file permanently.

What it does

Printing a form, filling it in by hand, signing it and scanning it back is ten minutes you do not need to spend. Click anywhere on the PDF to type, draw your signature with a mouse or finger, and place it on the page. When you save, everything becomes a permanent part of the page.

A note on legal weight: a drawn signature is a simple electronic signature. In the US (ESIGN) and the EU (eIDAS) it is generally fine for everyday agreements, approvals and forms. Some documents, such as deeds or certain government filings, require a certificate-based qualified signature instead.

How to use it

  1. Drop your PDF file.
  2. Click the page to add a text box, or use "Add signature" to draw your signature and place it on the page.
  3. Press "Save and download"; the elements are permanently applied to the PDF.

When is it useful?

  • Filling in leave, expense or onboarding forms from work
  • Signing and returning a rental or service agreement
  • Completing school permission slips without a printer
  • Adding text on top of a scanned form

Tips

  • Draw your signature slowly and a little larger than needed, then scale it down; fast strokes look broken.
  • Check each item's position before saving; the × button removes it.
  • If the document holds details others should not see, black them out with Redact PDF before sending.

Frequently asked questions

Is my signature really embedded in the PDF?
Yes. When you press "Save", the signature image and any text you typed are embedded into the real page content (flattened), so they appear in any PDF viewer or editor.
Can I write on a scanned (photographed) document?
Yes. This tool does not care whether the PDF has a text layer; it shows the page as an image and you click wherever you want to place text or a signature.
Can I delete an element I placed?
Yes. Before saving, you can remove any element with the × button on top of it.
Do accented letters (é, ü, ñ, ş, ğ) show up correctly?
Yes. When saving, a font that supports accented and extended Latin letters is embedded into the PDF; if that font cannot be loaded for any reason, the letters are automatically converted to the closest ASCII equivalents, so the operation never fails.
Is my signature stored anywhere?
No. It exists only in your browser's memory for the current page and is written into the PDF. Close the tab and it is gone.
Does it work on fillable PDFs with form fields?
Yes. The tool writes on top of the page regardless of form fields, so it works the same on fillable PDFs and on flat, scanned documents.
