Privacy Policy

This policy explains what WrenPDF does, and does not do, with your data. The short version: your files never leave your device.

Your files

Files you select or drop are processed only in your browser's memory, usually inside a separate Web Worker thread. No file, file content or file name is sent to our servers or stored by us. Closing the tab clears them.

Data stored in your browser

Your theme (light/dark), language, favourite tools and recently used tools are kept in your device's local storage (localStorage). This information is never sent to us and is deleted when you clear your browser data. See the Cookie Policy for the full list.

Server logs

Like any website, our hosting and content delivery provider may briefly record technical data such as IP address, browser type and request time to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use this data to identify you.

Visitor statistics

If visitor counting is enabled, we use a cookie-free service (Plausible, Umami or Cloudflare Web Analytics) that does not store an identifier about you. When a tool is used, only the tool's name is counted, never the name, size or content of your file.

Advertising

If ads are shown, Google and its partners may use cookies to serve and measure them, only after you give consent where the law requires it. You can opt out of personalised ads in Google Ad Settings.

Your rights

Because we do not collect your files or create accounts, we usually hold no personal data about you. If you email us, we use your address only to reply. Under laws such as the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA and Türkiye's KVKK, you can ask what data we hold, and ask us to correct or delete it, by writing to hello@wrenpdf.com. We reply within 30 days.

Chrome extension

The WrenPDF Chrome extension only downloads the PDF or image you right-click, after you approve access for that file's website alone, and hands it to the WrenPDF tab it opens, inside your device. The extension does not read the pages you visit, your passwords, cookies or browsing history. It sends no data to us or to anyone else, and it has no server of its own.

Children

The service is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
